Administrative / Biographical History

D'Oyly Carte's father Richard Carte (originally Cart, 1808-1891) was a flautist and originator of the Musical Directory. D'Oyly Carte's mother was Eliza Carte (neé Jones). He had four sisters; Blanch, Viola, Rose and Eliza, and a brother, Henry.
