The Neath Antiquarian Society was established in 1923, for the study of the history of Neath and district. It has acquired several archive collections whose origins can be demonstrated with some accuracy, which are listed elsewhere. It has also collected a variety of deeds and other legal papers, mainly relating to the Neath area, which are described here.

Arranged into three sections. Section 1, deeds (arranged by country, then by county, then by parish); bonds; family settlements; marriage settlements; section 2, probate papers (alphabetically by testator); section 3, legal papers: miscellaneous legal papers relating to cases and settlements; writs, affidavits and orders issued by specific courts
