Between Hannah Jones and John Bankes of Eaton Square, London and Soughton Hall, Northop [owner of Pandy Mill] re the weir which supplied water for both Pandy and Penmachno Mills. HJ says that she altered the weir in order to improve the water supply to both mills. JB demands that water should not penned for more than 2 hours a day. HJ wants to pen the water for as long as it is not required to drive JB's mill. This dispute continues for 4 months. Eventually, on solicitor's advice, HJ agrees to pay 1s. p.a. in order to continue using the weir at all, and promises not to pen back water for more than the 2 hours a day demanded.
