Letter

Scope and Content

Printed letter from London, denouncing the activities of Mr Frey, "the Jew preacher" in collecting money from chapels in the west of England. He has no authorisation to do this, and in the Connexion's current state of indebtedness it is most undesireable.

The Kingswood and Woodhouse Grove collections should be sent to London as soon as possible.

Signed by Henry Moore, Joseph Benson, William Myles, Richard Reece, John Stephens, Robert Smith, Richard Rodda, Thomas Vasey, and Thomas Blanchard.

Note; The above letter was crossed out.

Underneath the above is a letter from Benson in London, to Revd S W.Tracy of the Missionary Society (Church of England?), thanking him for the publications passed to Benson via Mr Butterworth, and for Tracy's kind note re the defence of the Missionary Society that had appeared in the magazine.

Reference is also made to the attack made in the magazine on the Catholic Magazine - Benson is pleased that the directors of the Society agree with the opinions expressed.
