Administrative / Biographical History

James Finlay (Kenya) Limited, based in Kericho, Kenya, owns businesses which manufacture black tea and tea extracts. The Company also grows cut flowers primarily for the European market. James Finlay (Kenya) Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of James Finlay Limited. Incorporated as The African Highlands Produce Company Limited  1925 , with James Finlay & Co as secretarie. The company first aquired land in the Kericho, Kenya, located within the highlands west of the Kenyan Rift Valley near Lake Victoria, in  1925 . The company continued to increase land holdings for the cultivation and processing of tea in the area throughout the 20th century. It established factories in Kitumbe, Chomogonday, Changana and Kymulot. In  2002  the company was renamed James Finlay (Kenya) Limited and is currently active.
