Balfour in Singapore and A.W. Maitland in Tientsin with news of staff movements, banking and personal affairs; from Smith also of the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) in Bangkok on his brother's death and attempts to settle his children, with related letters; from Jamieson in Tientsin and Sundius in Foochow with local and personal news; from John R.
