Administrative / Biographical History
Jeremiah Milles, antiquary, the son of the vicar of Duloe in Cornwall of the same name, was born in 1714. After education at Eton and Corpus Christi College, Oxford (gentleman-commoner, matric. 1729, BA 1733, MA 1735, BD and DD 1747), he travelled abroad. On his return he took Orders, and after many preferments, became Dean of Exeter in 1762. He was President of the Society of Antiquaries from 1768 until his death on 13 February 1784.
