The eleven notebooks are titled as follows: 1. Upper Devonian Fossils from Noth Devon and West Somerset, collected by EC Martin (1907); 2. References to papers and publications on the Permian and Triassic formations (n.d.); 3. The Upper Devonian Flora of the new red gravels of the Tiverton District, collected by EC Martin (1907); 4. Index to Palaeontological Collection (1908); 5. List of Upper Devonian Fossils from North Devon, from Whidborne's Devonian Fauna of the South of England, vol III (n.d.); 6. [no title] list of fossils (n.d.); 7. Catalogue of the Geological Collection (1906); 8. [no title page] notes on rock exposures and quarries, etc; 9. Notes on the geology of the West Country: the neighbourhood of tiverton (1906); 10. Notes on the Geology of Wiveliscombe district, with photographs (1908); 11. Notes and abstracts of papers on the Permian and Triassic Systems, vol 1 (April 1908).

Administrative / Biographical History

The addresses noted by Martin in the front of these notebooks place him at 116 Coronation Road, Bristol, and 12 Carnarvan Road, Barnet, in the period their writing. He later added the address of Pinner, Higher Beech Road, Loughton, Essex. He was a BSc and AIC.
