Administrative / Biographical History
Hugh Middleton Brice-Smith was born in 1884 and educated at Pocklington School, and Queen's College, Cambridge. He entered the Colonial Administrative Service and was posted to Nigeria where he held the posts of Assistant Resident, Northern Nigeria (January 1909); District Officer, 2nd class (October 1917); and acting Magistrate (1921 and 1922).
