Administrative / Biographical History
Enderby Co-operative Society was formed in 1868 and published its first balance sheet on 27th March 1869 which showed a profit of £21. By 1915 the Society had a membership of 959 and had a bakehouse. The Society's most outstanding feature was its farming operations and by 1915 was operating 2 farms successfully. In 1959 the Society took the decision to merge with Wigston Co-operative Society to form South Leicestershire Co-operative Society.
