Administrative / Biographical History

The group was formed to improve library and information services to trade unions and their members; it was active c. 1980-8. It issued a newsletter, organised workshops and meetings. Roger Backhouse was the Secretary. He had been commissioned to write a report by the British Library: Information services for trade unionists, British Library R.& D. Report no. 5695 (Elm Publications, 1982; included in the deposit)
