Administrative / Biographical History

The booklets represent part of the papers collected and used by the late John Henry Phillips who worked for the Welsh National Memorial Association prior to nationalisation of the health service in 1948 and subsequently for the Welsh Hospital Board and the Welsh Health Technical Services and Organisation. Phillips was one of the leaders in developing training and personnel management in the National Health Service. In later years he worked as a consultant in the Middle East and Australia.
