Scope and Content

The 300 Group ran three training events in Autumn 1991 aimed at giving group members greater confidence with economics and politics.

The events were entitled:

'How Economic Policy is Shaped' on 7 Sep 1991 with speakers including Rachel Lomax, Deputy Chief Economic Advisor to the Treasury and Judith Chaplin, Political Secretary to the Prime Minister.

'The Autumn Statement and Public Expenditure' on 2 Nov 1991 with speakers including Margaret Beckett MP, Shadow Treasury Spokeswoman

'The Budget Debate' on 30 Nov 1991 which included Party Political workshops for the three major political parties.

The file also contains some information regarding "How to get selected as an MEP" on 29 July 1992.
