One folder containing: original newspaper column from the Newcastle Weekly Chronicle from January 1889 of 'Reminiscences of John Martin K.L. by his son Leopold Charles Martin', pasted into a book and comprehensively indexed by Thomas Balston; descriptive catalogues to accompany exhibitions of John Martin paintings including "Belshazzar's Feast", 1821, "The Destruction of Pompeii & Herculaneum", 1822, "The Fall of Nineveh", 1837, "The Judgement Pictures"; one envelope containing eleven original signed letters by John Martin from the 1830s and 1840s; a copy of 'Urbanisme et Architecture' by Pierre Lavedan; articles from the Architectural Review on the work of John Martin, dated August 1948 and September 1949; a published copy of Belshazzar's Feast by Rev T. S.
