The five illustrations are the figures of the mermaid and Eliza walking together for pages 16 and 17, the standing figure of the mermaid for page 23, the figure of the crouching mermaid for page 11, a small mermaid for the title page, and the face of the mermaid for page 31. Each illustration is annotated with the relevant page numbers.
