Administrative / Biographical History

Connie (Constance), born 1917, was the daughter of Bertram and Mary Leonarde. Bertram, born Benjamin Edward in Monmouthshire in 1878, worked at County Hall. At the time of the war they lived in Woodville Road and the family home was destroyed in an air raid but rebuilt after the war. The letters to Connie were written by her school friend Kathleen who was a primary school teacher. Connie became a History teacher.
