Administrative / Biographical History

Editorial cartoonist for the Guardian since 1990, Bell has also produced cartoons for Private Eye, New Statesman and many other popular publications. Graduated in Fine Art from Leeds University in 1974 and taught art before becoming a freelance cartoonist in 1997. Bell has also made short animations (with Bob Godfrey) for the BBC and Channel 4 Television. Recipient of various awards, including CAT Political Cartoonist of the Year (1995, 1997) and CAT Strip Cartoonist of the Year (1996 - 8).
