Administrative / Biographical History

BERA - the British Educational Research Association - was founded in 1974 and now has over 1000 full members and, through its Associated Societies, is in contact with at least 1000 other people engaging in educational research. It is governed by an Executive Council which reports once a year to a General Meeting of members. In the UK it is a leading learned society for educational research and was among the founders of the Academy of Learned Societies for the Social Sciences.
