Scope and Content

Licence to alienate in part or in whole, the college tenements in Wood St, parish of St Michael in Hoggin Lane, London, granted simultaneously with a lease of the property by the master, fellows and scholars of St John's College, Cambridge to John Fenton of Enfield, Middlesex, innholder. For the first 37 years of the term, and for full-term sub-leases, college approval of the alienatee must be sought. No further unlicenced sub-alienation to be permitted. Deed poll, sealed with college seal on tag cut from seventeenth-century deed, duty stamp.
