Including correspondence and notes about specific chapters and editing, which would be included in the 1st penguin paperback reprint, as well as requests to use material from the biography and thank-you letters for copies of it. Correspondents include George Wansbrough, about Bernard Crick’s draft chapter on George Orwell’s time at Eton College, 1978; F.J.R. Coleridge, Vice provost of Eton College, about George Orwell’s examination results, 1978 (3); Dr George Woodcock about a member of the Royal family arriving at a bookshop to collect a copy of Animal farm, 1981; Fred Grubb, with editing notes, 1981; Betty O’Halloran, mostly about the time she worked for George Orwell when he was literary editor of the Tribune and also at Canonbury Square typing manuscripts and letters, 1981 (4); Robert Baltrop about the use of certain language in the book, 1980 (2); Michael Meyer, 1980-1981 (2); Dr E.
