Scope and Content

Of Gilbert Gerard of Crewwood, co. Chester, esq., relating to the conduct of Evan Edwards of Rhuall, co. Flint, esq., during the siege of Hawarden Castle in April 1645, stating that he sent great quantities of all sorts of provision required for the siege, never used any violence or extremity to the country in forcing contributions to the Commissions of Array, and on several occasions advised the country and places thereabout to contribute readily to the Parliamentary forces.
