Correspondence relating to all aspects of publication of 'Giant Cold' by Peter Dickinson, including editorial changes; contracts and royalties; and foreign language editions. The file includes correspondence from Hilary Rubinstein, Dickinson's agent at A.P. Watt Ltd.; Joanna Goldsworthy, Dickinson's British editor at Gollancz; Emilie W. McLeod, Dickinson's American editor at Dutton; Ann Durrell, also an editor at Dutton; and copies of some of Dickinson's outgoing letters. The correspondence shows that although Emilie W. McLeod began work on editing the book for publication, Ann Durrell took over work on the book after Emilie McLeod's death, after a long illness, in 1982. The book was dedicated to McLeod when it was finally published in 1983.
The last five letters in this file, PD/01/17/09/48-52, were added as part of the second accession of material donated in 2007 and so are out of chronological sequence with the other letters in the file.
