Scope and Content

Correspondence with English poet Paul Wilkins. Much of this relates to his first poetry collection Pasts (Carcanet, 1979), including references to: the contract; proofs; Wilkins's satisfaction with the published volume, despite the omission of the overall dedication; sales; Wilkins's efforts to promote the book in Northern Ireland, where he is based; reviews; and plans for some of the poems to be included in a new anthology of young British and Irish poets appearing as an issue of the American publication Green River Review. Other topics include: Wilkins's reviewing work for PN Review; a biographical note and photograph of Wilkins supplied for the Carcanet promotions files (photograph included in /10); Wilkins's response to a questionnaire asking for advice on the future of PN Review in 1979; and a 1979 piece by Blake Morrison in PN Review which Wilkins found upsetting.

Dated at: Derry, [County Londonderry], Northern Ireland.

Typescript with autograph.
