Correspondence with critic and academic Neil Corcoran, based at the University of Sheffield. Much of this consists of brief letters relating to reviews and essays by Corcoran submitted to PN Review, including his choice of books for review; reference is made to reviews of work by Stevie Smith, Richard Murphy, Stephen Fender, Seamus Heaney, John Matthias (on David Jones), other Jones-related books, and various books by Irish writers. Other topics include: a critical work Corcoran is writing on David Jones's The anathemata, and the possibility of Carcanet publishing a version of it (/7-8 and /11-12); and Schmidt's thoughts on Seamus Heaney's Field work (17).
