Scope and Content

Correspondence with English poet Paul Mills relating to: Mills's poems, the 'Psalms' sequence (text for a musical setting) and 'A Celtic Head' submitted to PN Review; a new sequence called 'The Folkton Drums' sent to Schmidt in October 1979; Mills's wedding in July 1979; and the planned disposal of surplus copies of Mills's 1976 Carcanet collection North carriageway in 1980. The file contains the following typescript or copy typescript poems by Mills: 'Psalms' sequence (/1); 'Crimea' and 'The Wall' (/4); poetry sequence 'The Folkton Drums' (/5); and a revised and shorter version of 'The Folkton Drums' (/6). Also includes a copy typescript review by Mills of Best of the poetry year 6 selected by Dannie Abse (/5).
