Papers from the Aberpergwm Estate collected by John Thomas of NeathD/D Ab/JT

Records relating to John Thomas of Neath and his research on the Aberpergwm Estate. John Thomas (1903-1980) was teacher and sub sequentially head teacher of Alderman Davies school in Neath and was responsible for rescuing the Aberpergwm Estate papers that make up the bulk of this part of the collection. He was deeply interested in the William's family and wrote notes for an MA, which was not completed or submitted. The papers below relate to him.DD Ab JT/1/hub

An agreement made between Morgan Stuart Williams esquire of Aberpergwm of the one part and E. V. Evans of the Woolpack Inn, Glynneath of the other part as follows: The said E. V. Evans agrees to do all necessary repairs required to be done at the said Aberpergwm Parish Church and to put the same into good orders and repair as follows also to find all material and labour necessary for carrying out the work and to complete the same to the entire satisfaction of the said Morgan Stuart Williams esquire on or before the 23rd day of June 1885 or pay the sum for of five shillings per week from that day until the same is satisfactorily completed.
