Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
The account books were kept by a Thomas White and his son Charles Watson White, deceased husband of the donor. Thomas White entered Middleton Park Farm about 1876 as bailiff for Lord Bicester. He later occupied farms at Cricklade, Gloucester, South Farm, Fairford, Gloucester and Church Farm, Avening, Gloucestershire; eventually he moved to Meadow Farm, where in later years he farmed with his son C.W. White. The Aston Manor Farm accounts by handwriting and other evidence appear to have been kept by M.P. Balsdon
