The Ambulance Sub-Committee was appointed to consider the re-organisation of the ambulance service in the county. It was re-constituted on three occasions when the Councils's health services were reorganised: in September 1958, in May 1964 (when the Council's Health and Welfare services were combined) and in April 1971 when the Sub-Committee's responsibilities under the Mental Health Act 1959 (7 & 8 Eliz. II c. 72) were transferred to the Social Services Committee (see CC1/42).
