Scope and Content

The series contains letters, mainly from the general public, on the subject of 'King Jesus' (1946). The series includes a ts [copy, draft or unsent?] reply from Graves to Robert Merritt (17 March 1967), and a ts incomplete undated "short blanket defence" [first two pages only] by Graves of the book. A supplementary bundle contains [copy, draft or unsent?] correspondence on this subject from Graves to: Robert Knittel (26 February 1946); the editor of the 'Inquirer & Christian Life' (May 1947); Dr Aston (c1968); the editor of a periodical which published a review of 'King Jesus' by Orville Prescott (nd); Mr Hepner (c1947); the editor of the 'Tablet' (c1947).
