LETTER: Mary Francis, Awelfan, Plasyfron, and Fishguard to Mr Jones.

She believes that her father was about 15 when he went to sea and born one of 9 children at Penrhiw, Cilan Hill, Letterston, pa. Llanstinan, resistered at Fishguard 1858.

His father worked on the road and kept a small farm.

Her father worked in a coal mine, was baptised at Treorchy and heard the late Rev. Dan Davies of Fishguard preach his first sermon at Ynyslwyd, Aberdare. Her father then went to sea and once walked home from New Quay.

Her mother died 1906.

Her father had been on the Iolo Morganwg and Gloria and in command of the Dalhanna of Glasgow and Dalcairnie about 1903.

Her father did his best to persuade her brother not to go to sea but he did, his first voyage was on the Margory Glen with her father.

Memories of her father and brother's time at sea.
