Scope and Content

describes his journey via Holyhead, Bangor and Shrewsbury, is sorry about the fate of the Corn Bill, has seen some grand illuminations in Birmingham and does not think those in London will be as good, has heard reports that Emperor Alexander and the King of Prussia came to England privately so that the Prince would not be subjected to taunts from the populace about the Princess of Wales but does not believe it, the Soho works and grounds near Birmingham were illuminated and opened to the public and it was a superb sight with very good sky rockets and other fire-works.
