Printers' prospectuses and leaflets

Scope and Content

Three private press prospectuses which are themselves examples of fine printing, as follows:

  • /1 Leaflet issued by the Grabhorn Press, San Francisco, advertising forthcoming editions of Oscar Wilde's Salome and Nathaniel Hawthorne's The golden touch [1927].
  • /2 Leaflet announcing the tenth anniversary of the Laboratory Press [Pennsylvania] (1923-1933), and reproducing preliminary paragraphs from A documentary account of the beginnings of the Laboratory Press, Carnegie Institute of Technology, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, published in 1927.
  • /3 Prospectus issued by the Rampant Lions Press, Cambridge, for a Catalogue of books and manuscripts by Rupert Brooke, Edward Marsh & Christopher Hassall, collected, compiled and annotated by John Schroder, with a frontispiece by Joan Hassall [1970].
