One letter from Emile Delavenay and one letter from Robert Mengin, successive directors of France, relating to: France; Delavenay's admiration for Strachan's translations (including some detail about a particular piece of work he has completed); competitions in the New Statesman that Strachan has entered on more than one occasion, and Delavenay's desire to publish a translation from French into English from one of these competitions; and subsequently, Mengin's desire to publish Strachan's translation of a poem by Aragon in France.
