Reviews of exhibitions relating to Strachan's collection

Scope and Content

Reviews or notices of exhibitions which included material from Strachan's collection, or with which he was involved in some way. These take the form of cuttings or photocopies, and include reviews of: exhibitions of engravings by Abram Krol at the Heffer Gallery in Cambridge in the 1960s; 'The artist and the book in France: Matisse to Minaux 1932-1963' at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, in 1963; an exhibition of etchings and engravings by Terry Haass at the Heffer Gallery in Cambridge in 1965 (for which Strachan wrote a preface); an exhibition of livres d'artiste from Strachan's collection as part of the Brighton Festival in April 1967; an exhibition of Strachan's livres d'artiste at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art in 1967; 'The artist and the book in France' at Leicester Museum in 1969, and at the Arts Centre, Folkestone, in 1975; a Pierre Lecuire exhibition at Taranman Gallery in 1975; 'The artist and the book in France: Matisse to Vasarely' at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, in 1978; a display of Strachan's copy of Thésée by André Gide [at Bishop's Stortford College, undated]; and a display of livres d'artiste at the Victoria and Albert Museum (undated).
