Administrative / Biographical History

Edward Hubert Linfoot (1905-1982), mathematician and researcher in optics. Linfoot was a mathematics lecturer at Bristol University, 1932-1948, and Assistant Director and John Couch Adams Astronomer at Cambridge Observatory, 1948-1970.
