Dec 26 1941

Dear Phyllis

Thank you very much

for your kind letter it has been

a dreadful blow losing Lyn. He

left the house to go to Home

Guard so bright and cheerful

that we really cann't [sic] understand

any reason for this dreadful

tragedy. I hope you and

your family are quite well

and when you do come to

Cardiff to see your mother you'll

find a little time to come and

see me. I am staying up

here just for a few weeks with

my mother.

Yours very sincerely

Gwen Evans
