Administrative / Biographical History
Samuel Richards (fl. 1903-1964) of Beech House, Llanberis, Caernarfonshire, and later Philadelphia House, Deiniolen, Caernarfonshire, was a consulting quarry engineer. He worked at the Rivals granite quarry in Llithfaen , Caernarfonshire, becoming the quarry's manager, 1920-1926. From 1942 to 1950 he worked as Assistant Examiner in the Aeronautical Inspection Directorate at No. 31 Maintenance Unit, R. A. F., Llanberis. He also formed S. Richards and Co., Mine and Quarry Engineering, based in Deiniolen. He was married to Ellen Richards.
