Scope and Content

EXAMINATION BEFORE REMOVAL: Catherine Jones from pa. Llangefni to pa. Penmorfa in co. Carnarvonshire. The examinant stated that she was the wife or widow of William Jones, labourer, who had never gained settlement for himself. He was the son of John Jones of Bryntwr in pa. Penmorfa in Co. Carnarvon and Ellen, his wife. She stated that her husband had deserted her many years ago and after her confinement she had appeared before the magistrates at Tremadoc and they decided that her husband's place of settlement was in pa. Penmorfa. Relief was paid for ten years to her by the pa. Penmorfa during which time she resided in pa. Ynyscynhaearn in Co. Carnarvon. John Evans, the assistant overseer for the pa. Llangefni produced a Certificate of Chargeability for Catherine Jones and her daughter Catherine, aged 13 years.
