Administrative / Biographical History
Osborne Henry Mavor was born in Glasgow in 1888 and educated at Glasgow Academy and the University of Glasgow. He gained the qualifications MB ChB, 1913 and MD, 1929 . He became an assistant (later visiting) physician at the Victoria Infirmary, Glasgow between 1920-1938 as well as Professor of Medicine at Anderson’s College, Glasgow from 1928-1930 . Mavor retired in Glasgow, to concentrate on writing plays in 1938 and gained a CBE in 1946 . He died in 1951 .
