Police Court Rota

Scope and Content

The Police Court Rota was established in 1917 to form a rota of workers who would attend Police courts for a minimum of two hours a week to observe and report the action of the court in relation to women charged with sexual offences

Consists of: correspondence concerning establishment of the Police Court Rota in 1917 and in 1939, reports from Rota members of cases heard, some press cuttings relating to cases of women who have been mistreated in the courts, file of reports from the Liverpool Police Court Rota
