Administrative / Biographical History

The Royal Commission on Electoral Systems, donated by William Pember Reeves(1857-1932), a member of the commission. The purpose of the commission wasto: '...inquire into the machinery and methods of parliamentary elections andto consider proposals for making them simpler, less costly, and moreeffective for securing full representation on the basis of the existingelectorate'.
