OXFORD ST. THOMAS: THE PROPERTY LEASED TO ROBERT DUDLEY, THE EASTERN ONE-THIRD

Scope and Content

PORTION LEASED TO JOAN SHINGELTON AND

THE CHEQUERS PUB

The first two (neighbouring) properties

were bought by John Buckingham in the

1760s. Earlier deeds on the Dudley land

may be found at 25D, and on the portion

of the Shingleton land at 28D. There are

no previous deeds on the property which

became the Chequers Pub, but which is

revealed here to have been leased by

William Dutton to Roger Moore the Cook.
