At various times the supporting cast included Tony Hancock, Hattie Jacques, Beryl Reid, Max Bygraves and a young Julie Andrews. Plots revolved around Andrew's time at school, with actors playing various tutors and school friends of Andrew's.
Writers on the series included Eric Sykes, Sid Colin and Ronald Wolfe. The radio series ran from 1950 to 1959. A television version was made for ITV between 1958 and 1959.
