Administrative / Biographical History

These plaques appear to have been commissioned by the Leicester Municipal Technical and Art School to commemorate worthy staff and governors. They hung in the Committee Room in the Hawthorn Building. Commissioning the pieces seems to have become a tradition that was continued until the Leicester Polytechnic days. The works were completed by artists connected to the Art School.
