Police Federation of England and Wales

Scope and Content

The Police Federation (PFEW) is the representative body for all police officers up to the rank of chief inspector. The Police Act 1919 both established the Federation and also removed officers' right to strike action. The Police Act 1996 again establishes the Federation as a staff association whose responsibility is to represent its members in relation to pay, allowances and working conditions.
