Superintendents' weekly reports

Scope and Content

The early reports cover a wide range of administrative and financial matters including numbers of patients in the Infirmary, building maintenance, absence or incapacity of medical staff on health and other grounds and the appointment and dismissal of ancilliary staff. The later reports, covering the years 1907-22, are more formal and limited in their scope. They consist of reports re: patient numbers (total number, admissions, dismissals, deaths, vacant beds, number on waiting lists); doctors acting in locum tenens for G.R.I. Surgeons and Physicians; and, unusual deaths, particularly where anaesthetics had been administered.
