'Southern Africa - the imprisoned society', 7th May 1975. Letter from Basil Manning (AAM Executive Secretary) to members of the Movement urging their support for black South Africans imprisoned under the Terrorism Act.


The Terrorism Act No 83 of 1967 was a security law of the South African Apartheid regime which criminalised a broadly defined offence of "terrorism". It gave the police the power to detain individuals indefinitely, incommunicado and without a trial or court appearance.
