Queen Elizabeth to Ralph Greave.

Reciting: a lease of 12 Jun 1583 under seal of the Duchy of Lancaster to John Gee of all lands meadow and pasture in Rothwell being part of the Duchy of Lancaster (except a parcel called Thawhite) with licence to cut down thorn trees growing on the lands for fuel and fencing, for a term of 38 years at an annual rental of £5. 6s. 0d.

And reciting that the lands were then vested in Ralph Greave who had surrendered them at the Duchy Court.

Witnessed that in consideration of the surrender the Queen demised the premises in Rothwell (Thawhite excepted) to the said Ralph Greave for 33 years at 53sh. a year with licence to take fuel and fencing.
