Bridgebuilding and Constructional Engineering Employers' Association

Scope and Content

Assessment register (relating to member firms and their contributions), 1921-1924; Association ledger and cash book, 1921-1927.

The collection forms part of the much larger archive of the Engineering Employers' Federation (MSS.237), its creating body having been a predecessor organisation of the EEF.

Administrative / Biographical History

The Bridgebuilding and Constructional Engineering Employers' Association was in existence before 1921, from which date its records survive. The Association was a member of the Engineering Employers' Federation. There was a Bridgebuilding and Constructional National Technical Committee of the EEF, whose records cover the period 1924-1949. The Bridgebuilding and Constructional Engineering Employers' Association presumably amalgamated with the Engineering Employers' East Midlands Association, c.1973.
