To James Boydell, and John Griffiths (Oak Farm Iron Works): purchase of livestock, oats, cheese and other produce, for Oak Farm estate, at Chester, Hawarden, Caerwys fairs and elsewhere, frequent comments on price of cattle, lambs, horses, arrangements for their delivery; reports on Oak Farm ships (Skimmer, Honoratus, Conway Castle, Rossett, Emma Laura, Anna Maria), their voyages mainly to Ireland with cargoes of coals, sulphur ore, etc., and return with slates, iron, etc., including news of wreck of Honoratus near Amlwch; repairs, alteration, and provision of sails, rigging to ships, comments on freight charges, victualling costs, state of trade, potato disease; provision of fencing, payment/arrears of rents and other matters relating to tenants; items of Hawarden news/gossip including churchyard gates broken open by orders of Admiral Dundas, delivery of pot for rector's wedding, birth of baby at Park Farm, Kitty Griffiths' fine for keeping a disorderly house.
